When this 9-1/2 foot gator left the protection of our lake banks to go for walks on the street it was time for the trapper to come for a relocation. Brenda Walker's photo shows him on the lake bank a few days before he went wandering. A Landscape Florida manager snapped some photos with his phone during the gator capture and relocation.

| Tennis Court Refurbishment Project (3 photos)

Special thanks to Board Member Marianne Ziegler who led the due diligence for this project with assistance by Board Member Joe Subin and owners Judy Wertz and Brenda Walker. The vendor, US Tennis and Fitness Co., did an excellent job. The work included fixing surface bumps and depressions, applying a coat of acrylic resurfacer, flooding the courts to test the surface, and applying two coats of fortified acrylic color in blue on the courts and light green in the background, followed by coats of white for the markings. The blue is considered a better performing color than green because it offers sharp contrast between the tennis ball and the markings on the court.

Our healthy lake and environs attract many kinds of birds from bald eagles to wood storks and wading birds; semi-aquatic mammals like Otters; and reptiles like the gators who periodically move in. Florida Marine Construction is doing some important Lake Bank Protection projects late July/early August 2011. The rip rap project to stabilize the outflow pipes is installed from a barge that moves around the property.
